If a port is added to the VLAN and if the port is not configured for auto-on or auto-off, what would be the default configuration on the ports.

If you haven't configured the port speed, it will default to auto negotiate.

I got it,

but if the other side is configured for auto-off 10 full duplex will the auto-negotiate will settle down for 10 full duplex

If you are running auto negotiate, you should run it on both sides, otherwise the extreme will probably negotiate to half duplex and you'll see errors.
