I was shown the other day how to transfer the mlx phone to a new area of the building (swapping out cables, right?). you'll have to forgive me for the lack of vocabulary concerning any of this.
the problem is... i have to move the other operator (who just receives local calls) to a new part of the building. the operator (27) is on the extension directory as being on slot 1 port 5... funny thing is, nothing is there. i look at the slot.. and the other operator (10) is listed as slot 1 port 1... and shes there, but the other isnt, am i looking in the wrong place?
how else could i fix this?
thanks so much :)

legend ? 1 st modulea 408 ? are you useing the console or spm to tell you where everything is programed go
> maintaenace
> extensions
> status
station # of local operator, this will tell what module & port

Remember to count from the bottom up. Also, go to this persons extension, dial the main console (or other display phone) and verify that it is indeed sta. 27.

Thanks for your help. I'll go ahead and try that and post here whenever I finish. :)

By the way, yes, it's a Legend.

I went into SPM to do the maintence, extensions, etc.. thing that you had told me to do.
Only, under SPM (v5.0) there were no extensions under maintence, and I had to go to sys program to get to maintence, is this correct?

maintenance is on your first page after system setup it should be F6

also when you go by setup page this will tell all your operator positions, i'll bet what is in your slot 1/port 5 is one operator pos, as port 1 & 5 in every MLX module has the capabilty of being a operator position

suedaisy,
In SPM or from an MLX20, you'll want to do:
Maintenance > Port > Extension (or Station) > [Enter station number] > Status. This will show the slot/port of your extension.

Thanks again for all of your suggestions. I just went back again to take a look at it, and the slot/port for ext 27 is 01/05, but there is nothing there.. its an empty port.
However (this could get confusing).. I had to put ext 26 in the back office and move ext 44 into the spot where 27 once was. When I checked the status on ext 44, it said it was on 03/02, and when I call ext 44 it does go to that operator phone (which is not an mlx20 phone). I just renumbered ext in SPM rather than physicially swapping them. Could that be the actual port?
I'm also wondering if these slots are not in correct order. I wouldnt put it past the former admin to do something like that. There are 2 sets of numbers at the top of the slots too, and I'm not sure which is right and which is wrong.
Thanks again

in a legend all programing is in the logical ID #01 to whateveer say #50 you can renumber to another station number ,but the features & lines stay at the logical port so when you renumber all you are doing is changeing the station number do like franke says make sure what station you are working on ,do a feature 00 in the display it will tell you the correct station ,or call to a display phone, when you read the status in maitenance it tell you the slot & port ( logical ID )
