I am new to this, so apologies if the answer is obvious.
We have created a VPN for remote support, and have been asked to open ports 5800 and 5900 for a VNC viewer, do we need to do this, or does the VPN connection allow direct connection and remove the need to open the ports in question?

Thanks

Should work. So long as the VPN is configured to encrypt ALL traffic between the two hosts. Based on the way you asked the question I believe that to be the case. If you can ping each other VNC should work also.

Thanks for that, that makes sense, I will pass on the information
