portal row numbers

I want a script to put the number of the portal row I am in into a global field called pr# so I can get back to the portal row later to update a variable. I tried using a paste result of calculation script using the status(currentportalrow) function but it won't past the current portal row into the field (doesn't seem to recognize the row button is in), Any ideas?

Use Set Field instead of Paste, it works for me.
