Is there a partable SQLengine for C# that can be used within a GNU program?

I am just looking for alternative to storing data easily and SQL provides the best options. I just dont want to have to depend on an outside database to store my data. I would like to roll it all into my program.

You can use any ODBC engines, for example MyODBC, PostgreeODBC to connect to UNIX databases. They are ODBC compliant.

in addition to chiph said, MyODBC and PostgreeODBC make sence since you want to connect to a MySQL and PostgreeSQL database located on local computer, or remote computer under Windows or Unix. PostgreeSQL is available only under Unix or CygWin.
