Hello.
I'm thinking about implementing LDAP as authentication framework in a business environment but there is the problem of portable computers (callout, consultants, whatever), which do not have a permanent connection and thus have to rely on fallback mechanisms (e.g. passwd authentication + local /home directory).
Has anyone experiences with portable computers in an LDAP environment + network filesystem and can give some hints or share his thoughts on synchronisation, authentication and other security related concerns?
Thanks a lot!
regards
chenn
