PORT SERVICES WITH POSTGRESQL

I have build (GNU GCC in AIX 5.1) postgresql 7.5.4
and I not see postgres port socket TCP/UDP (same with LINUX) in etc/service .. is normal ????

yes, its normal.

POstgresql uses 5432 I think...

Thank you for is the information. It possible to connect customers external on this hidden port 5432 in the file/etc/servives??? I use the mode backend C/C++ (libpqxx)
When I have build I have see the flag (config Makefile) lsocket to No. and when I run Nmap (map port with Linux) to AIX computer with postgresql loaded I not show the port.

Yep, it will work. Just make sure there is no firewall enabled to block 5432.

Also, make sure you enable tcpip in the postgresql.conf file

Thank you,Thank you,Thank you I have write in postgres.conf tpcip_socket = true and port = 5432 now I have the elephant port... I have not currently of practical with system AIX and I have some difficulty with Linux sources adaptation C/C++ on AIX I want pass of my works on Linux, (you can see http//:82.127.82.195) Aix I am sorry if you find that http 80 no access I have some rules crazy with portsentry the result of one imperfect controls mastery. and some a war (friendly) with my access provider.
