We have a Merlin Magix system. (Not sure which version, if that makes a big difference.) I have moved one of our two 4424LD+ phones to my desk (ext 1192) from where it was (ext 1182). I want to set my extension as a system programming port, but my phone is on Slot 2, Port 9. Ext 1182 is on Slot 1, Port 5. Is there a way within WinSPM to move 1192 to 1/5 and 1182 to 2/9, or do I have to do some physical rewiring? And if there is a way within WinSPM, will I have to reprogram anything else? Ext 1182 happens to be a secondary operator station, which is largely unused.

Thanks!

I am assuming the 2 ports are both on TDL modules. If not, then ignore my next sentence. The easiest thing to do would be to simply swap the jumpers for these 2 ports at the control unit. I would suggest unplugging the 2 phones in question before moving the jumpers. Be sure to relabel the designations on the connecting blocks. Brian Cox

Thanks for the reply. Yes, they're both on TDL modules (412 LS-TDL).

I ended up finding that we had a few extension numbers that were in the first 5 ports of Slot 1 that weren't in use. I found one of them, swapped the extension wiring, then renumbered and reprogrammed. Seems to have worked, at least so far. I was able to copy the button programming from the renumbered other extension back to mine. I had to redo the voice-mail coverage for my phone, but I think I hit everything else.

Thanks!
