I need to put a sniffer on a specified port on the switch to monitor the traffic on my network.
Is the BPS2000 or the BayStack470 capable of doing many-to-one port mirroring, i.e. can i mirror 23 ports on a single one?
If no, is there any switch product of nortel that can do that?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, the BPS class and the 470's can only do 1 to 1 mirroring.

If you get into the layer 3 products such as the Passport 8600 series, then you can do many to one only. (not one to many)
(I think the 1648's can too)

Regards, Dualie

It depends on the device, some only allow one to one, the 350/450s allow two to one, and some like the 425 allow two to one but ingress only. I'd look at Allied Telesyn 8012 or 8024 switches or HP 2626 switches to get what your looking for.
