Our system is running AIX 4.3.1 .
We have a developed a serious delay in our Reboot process. The system "goes dormant" for up to 10 minutes. Can you suggest why?
After the system displays:
"Performing All Automatic Mounts"
there is a pause of 8 to 10 minutes!
Then the display informs us:
mount: 1831-010 Server Lori not responding
RPC 1832-018 Port Mapper Failure.
RPC 1832-008 Timed Out.
mount: backgrounding
Lori - /var/spool/lpd/pio/@local
after which the reboot proceeds sucessfully to conclusion.
This will occur whether "Lori" (a PC with attached printer
on a remote LAN) is on or off.
Why is the mount going into background?
What file feeds this boot-up process?
What must we do to make Lori behave like all the other PCs on all the other remote LANs?
Thank you for any advice!
Marti
