In my Application log I am seeing warning and info log entries "Port Maintenance Required on channel (nn)". Then "Channel nn was disabled", "port maintenance complete on channel (nn)", and "Channel nn was enabled".

The cycle takes about 30 seconds. Most of the time it repeats once for each channel on the QSIG trunk. AND it is happening in the middle of the day.

Is this something that is being triggered by events or is it something that is scheduled (for a very bad time)?

If it is event driven could I schedule it in the middle of the night to try to avoid the event trigger?

All of the systems I have installed do this and it does it at different times during the day. I know of no way to change it or stop it.

What Ken said. I tried to find a pattern to the port maintenance on our system, but could find none.

I believe that it only does this when the port has been idle for a certain period of time, usually several hours. So if this is occurring in the middle of the day, your PBX routing or traffic patterns must be such that not all of your ports are being utilized. I would expect that if you did not use some sort of cyclical trunk group you would probably see this on the higher ports in your system. I am quite certain that this should have no impact on your system performance and should not be noticeable to the end users.
