I recently installed Apache 2.0 on a Win2003 Server. Since then, it has come to light that I need to be able to write asp.net pages for the web server. Apache 2.0 can't do this at the moment (without spending money on an add-in). So in my brilliance *sarcasm*, I stopped Apache and setup IIS. This was all fine until I went to create a web site on IIS and it said that the port was in use - which I guess it was by Apache. So I uninstalled Apache. But it is still saying that the port is in use.

What would be using it... there is nothing else on the machine.

I had a look at TCPView and I don't really understand what it's telling me. Which one is the port that apache used?

should have been port 80.. check your httpd.conf (it should be still hanging around) for the "port" or "listen" directives.

have a look in TCPView how many services are using the port 80, or http port

Thanks. Apache was set up to use a different port. All fixed now. Thanks so much for your help. TCPView seems like a neat little tool once the moron trying to use it figured it out. [2thumbsup]

I Know what you mean, i only found it when i was trying to sort SSL last month
