Port Connected but Displays notconnected 6509

I have my default gateway plugged into a port on the switch (6509 Catalyst) and it displays as notconnected but everyone on the network can get out and this port is the only way out so it seems to be working and the light isn't lit up - how is that possible?

There must be another way out. Some PC that's dual homed maybe.

Hi,

Make sure you are not looking at the management port. It is easy to confuse that with the standard ethernet ports when looking at the config file. Check a show interfaces on the supervisor and any RSM that are installed and check the running interfaces against the port you have the cable plugged into.
