What I'm trying to understand is, can an ip-access list be applied to a specific gig port? Right now, all of our ports are on the same vlan, and the default gateway and ip route are the ISP's gateway.

Can I apply an ACL to the port that connects to the ISP and manage traffic that way? This port does not have an IP assigned to it.

Thanks for the help!

As long as it has a layer 3 ip address on it you can add a ACL to any port you want.
