I am trying to access websites through my companies firewalls as an experiment. They have all the normal http ports blocking proxies. Can anyone give me port 21 or 443 proxies? or assist me with another way to bypass our firewall?

Our company uses Websense as a firewall.

Thank you in advance.

Well if they have configured the firewall to block this ports, you will not be able to use these. In theory depending on configuration you might be able to connect to say an ftp on port 21 if you use passive transfers but this will only work if the firewall is configured for this.

No matter what proxy software you install on your machine it will not help you bypass the firewall. To be able to bypass the firewall you will need to either re-configure the firewall or use a proxy that is installed and allowed to connect to the outside world.

Nor would you be helped to bypass your company firewall here, your firm no doubt installed it for a reason.

Mystified as to why you wish to break your companies firewall, when this is more than likely a sackable offence. Firewalls are put in place for security reasons and your actions could open you to large litigationm should you bring down the network or open them to attack.

Your question is even more puzzling as you ask to access websites but wish to use FTP ports. The http protocal is probably locked out on all ports so this is a waste of time. Your company obviously locks off internet access unless the business feels there is a business reason for each user to have access.

Even if you did manage in your escapade, this will no doubt appear on their security logs and you can expect a call from your HR department.

Ngabay - the only legitimate purpose I would see for this is security testing. If you are not the network administrator / responsible for IT security, I suggest you follow everyones advice and leave well alone....you'll almost certainly be leaving tell-tales in the logs.

If you're looking for useful information on IT security and penetration testing, Tek-Tips isn't really the place for discussions of this nature. Security Focus is one of the mainstram sites for security professionals.
