Popup Menu from Button not right click in .Net

I'm trying to popup a menu from a Button, or something that looks like a button in .Net 3.5.

I tried creating a ContextMenuStrip, since it has a Show method, but the menu disappears immediately. ContextMenuStrip doesn't have a ShowDialog method.

Then I tried using a ToolStrip, so I could use a ToolStripDropDown, but tool strip buttons don't look like buttons, so I had to abandon that.

There must be some standard method to do this, but I can't figure it out. Any pointer appreciated.
