PopUp blockers

is there a reasonable way to defeat the majority of popup blockers?...my site launches windows to view photos in and my users don't realize that their "popup blockers" are keeping them from viewing the site properly

Most popup blocking software includes a feature to nominate sites that - from which - popups are allowed. A note at the start of the page explaining this, perhaps with detailed instructions on how to access the feature for some of the major ad-blocking programs would be the most reasonable way I can think of.

---aaaa it should be the other way arround....any time I see a pop-window is just like some one poking me in my eye..."Look here" "buy this"
BUT most popup blockers will alow u to pop...while holding a fucntion key like Shitf or ALT or whatever...so just tell your users....or don't use pop ups!
last thing we need is someone to crete a MEGA POP....perhaps using "thumb-Iframe" would do IF ur talking about only images that pop ....

Hmmmm..... say I've got a pop-up blocker running that is happily stopping all the blasted things. Am I going to fiddle with it to view bits of your site, or am I going to go somewhere else that lets me browse in peace?

To disable the tool bands and Browser Helper Objects features:
Close all instances of Internet Explorer, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Browsing, click to clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box.
Restart Internet Explorer.
These steps change the value data for the "Enable Browser Extensions" String value to "No" in the following registry key:

The majority of the popup blockers out there only block unsolicited popus, those that open whithout user intervention i.e. when you go to a site and on top of it a popup windows appears, but they don't block those that you have requested, like clicking on a link that generates the popup.

You say your site launches windows to show photos? Why have you automated that? Why not let your users to click to view?

If you haven't heard of it, then you most likely don't need it.

Free surfer can be configured to block all pop ups not just the unsolicited ones most of the pop up blockers I have seen allow for some sort of user configuration
