I have a subform that displays detail purchase order items. I would like to display a sequential number in a textbox to use as a line number for a reference point. Is there a way to populate a textbox with a sequential number (sort of like a record count) as the records are being loaded into the subform? This particlar textbox is unbound while the other remaining fields are bound to a query fields and are loaded automatically by access.

Thank you

If you send me an email to frank@fhsservices.co.uk I will forward a sample of a continuous form that enters a sequential number per item.
Please put "Numbering a subform" in the subject line

Trendsetter: It is a good idea to post the technique you are using in this thread so that others can find it and use it in the future. Others may be struggling with the same thing.

I simply mean for you to post a sample of the SQL that would be used to create the Row Number. I assume you have a function that is called to do this. That code and how to call it would do.
