Hi
I am using vb2008 dataset wizard
I have a table of dogs names and other data...these include mother and father.... I want to select the name of the mother from a dropdown combobox.. populated with a list of names from this dog table
I have added the dog table to the dataset as dogs1 alias name and used wizard to complete the data binding.... but when I run the form ..the combo box is empty
Can anybody help

It might help if you post some code on how you are populating the combo box. Also, it may be best to not use the wizard but code it manually - I'm sure you can get assistance from here if you need to reconfigure something. Other things to check is if you have a valid connection to the database and if you have proper permissions to access the information.

If at first you don't succeed, then sky diving wasn't meant for you!

Hi
Thanks for you reply.... I have successfully accomplished this in a previous version of my project when I was just starting and for want of a better explanation ..playing with vb with the hope of rewriting a previous database app from paradox....anyway
I copied the code and queries exactly as I did in the wizard....and the configure queries for the alias table adapters work in design mode and the binding info in the combo box task is correct ..but when run the form the combo fields are empty..all other fields are populated and insert and update work...
.... this is doing my head in....dont relish having to code everything... how asy is it ??
