I am not sure this is right forum. Using Nortel PBX and desk sets, but depending on the function our Cisco LAN comes into play as well.
A user in a branch office is complaining that she hears popping or ticking noises on calls that include dirrect interoffice calls (those go across the lan) and calls which go straight out to the rest of the world (strictly over the pbx) as well as when they are running video conference calls.
The video is fine, just the audio makes this clicking sound. The data portion of the network is fine, no complaints there. Obviously not the same hand set as VTC is a completely different animal. Unlikely to be the PBX as again, VTC doesn't go through that.
What are some of the more common causes for such a noice...could it be power induction? I don't know how else to explain both the randomness and the variety of configurations in which it is encountered.
Thanks for any insight.
