Hello,

I'm looking for a pop3d to run on a Sun Sparc running Solaris 7. I dont know if the sendmail that installs with Solaris will support Pop3. I think you have to run a pop3d along side the sendmail to support POP3 and SMTP mail. Anyone out there know the answer? Perhaps a running POP3d on a Sun Solaris system.
Thanks

I can't give you a specific answer, but I can clear up something. Sendmail handles SMTP traffic only. For POP3 you need to get hold of a seperate POP3 daemon. I'm not sure if there's one included with Solaris. If not, then you might be able to find a pre-compiled POP3 in pkg format at <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> or <A HREF=" TARGET="_new">

Andy,

Thank you for the info. I have looked at both sites and found no trace of a POP3 daemon. So I'm still look'n.

Thanks,
Chiddo
