I have a Exch2k (SBS2000) server running at my main client's site - behind a Linux box running qmail, and serving as a router to the internet.
About a month ago one computer started having problems with internet mail - and it was unique in that he was the only one with Office XP. If this user runs OE, he has no problem.
Just in the last few days, however, the event log has been riddled with the POP3 error 10060, for ALL users. It delays incoming mail for up to two hours...even though all of the same users have a 2ms ping time to the Linux box. I just watch in horror as qmail dutifully holds the messages waiting for retrieval.
The most curious thing is: It starts working suddenly with no real rhyme or reason, and I'm dreading the next time it stops working - I know it has not "fixed" itself. There are also some messages being held up in SMTP queues, and cannot be enumerated, but that's a different issue, I think.
Any ideas?
