pop3 connector grabs pop mail but doesn't deliver to inbox

greetings all-
using exchange server 5.5
server had been running fine for quite a while.
now, the pop3 connector goes and grabs the pop3 mail, but it doesn't deliver it into the user's inbox (or anywhere else for that matter).
weird thing is that it's only happening with 1 or 2 users.
is this something with the mta?

If it's just one or two users, does it affect that user on any computer or just one specific computer? That could point to a client side error or misconfiguration. Maybe a client side rule, or the delivery location for the messages is set incorrectly. (This is less common then you might think if you are using Outlook for pop mail.)
