POP3 CONNECTOR DISAPPEARS IN SBS2003/EXCHANGE 2003

Here is the problem, my boss doesn t want to be part of the exchange server. Now I need to have his emails rerouted to his smtp mail. I cannot configure anything since my pop3 connector disappears on me when I click on it. Is there a way to reroute the incoming mail in exchange to a smtp? thanks
