POP3 Client can't get emails without restart

I have a POP3 client, I think I only have him an a couple other POP3 clients left. The rest connect through the domain. Anyways, after he comes back from lunch he is unable to get his emails without restarting the computer.
I've resceduled antivirus, turned of screensavers, turned of power savings I don't know why he has to restart. He has Windows XP Pro, Office 2K SP3
 
I have had the same problem but it only seems to be in earlier versions.

Sometimes I can go to the bottom left hand corner of outlook and where it says offline reconnect - other times I have to reboot.

It doesn't seem to happen with the version I recieved lately though.

Do you know how long the machine sits in delay until he gets cut off. Rphips is right in the fact that Outlook or his machine is going off line.

I can only show you the door, your the one that has to open it !
