i have setup dns its working fine. when i send mail using "mail" command i am able to receive it in the pop3 client. if i send it through outlook or smtp client i am unable to receive the messages.

outlook is authorizing the user and password and it is able to send the messages also. only thing i am unable to receive those mails.

Is outlook on a different machine from the mail server? What are you using for your mail server? Are you getting error messages? Is the mail getting to the server?

hi rhythmace,

Thanks for your reply

I am using sendmail on linux 7.1 server

the problem is when i send message being in linux machine using mail command, it is able to send and receive the messages.

if i send messages using the outlook express from win 98 system, the message will go from the outlook but the user is not able to receive the mails. but outlook express is not giving any error it is able to authorize to pop3 server and able to send the message to the server.

I hope u got the point

Yeah, I got the point.
Hire a mail admin. There are a lot of
unemployed, qualified, individuals around.

You obviously have misconfigured something either
client or server side and from your description
the clues are not forthcoming.

Why save money with linux if you can't admin it?

now i am able to send mails and receive it only problem is , it is attching my hostname to the domain. how can i solve it
