Pop Up Windows

I'm trying to take user input from a form and display it in a pop up window for the user to confirm their details before inserting a record into a db.
Any ideas how this can be done with Coldfusion or is a Javascript solution needed?

New to all this CF stuff - thanks in advance folks.
