Pop-up Mystery, please help :-(

I find that when creating a pop-up menu if I use html for rollover and rolloff states I have no problems. However, if I use images Internet Explorer 5.5, the image textures have problems appearing, as they are constantly being download from my webserver. I also notice that fireworks does not preload the images. I take it this was a flaw in fireworks and the images are supposed to be preloaded?

Anyhelp would be appreciated. If there is an alternative to fireworks pop-ups would love to know about it. I've spent too much time, perhaps pop-ups are too goog to be true to and require manual coding in the end.

Fisrt off, add the preload to the body tag, second off, make sure the graphic image has been transfered to your image folder on the server, third off... try MX, it works alot better.
The coding on Fireworks 4 isn't that great, but the MX seems to fix alot of the issues. Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..

DarnCat is 100% right.

Mx is really good and it took me very little time to learn and use it for my pop up menus. I want to say this bcos i want you to know that it requires no manual coding whatsoever and pop ups are not too good to be true.

even if to to repeat what darncat has said
use:
1) Fireworks Mx
2) It has options to preload images (use it)
3) Make sure u have all the stuff moved to your server.

plus: it helps sometimes to change the format of the file extensions etc. (using the options in the export stage) and also change the name of the export html file.
