I need to send a broadcast pop-up message through Outlook 2000 to all my users to warn them of viruses, company meetings, etc. Any one know of a way to do this? I need something that removes my end-users from the equation, since they're a big part of the problem.

Thanks,
Hobbes

Not sure I follow that "Remove your end users from the equation cause they are the problem" Do you want to send them an e-mail??
Explain in more detail what's going on here.

If you go to each users PC and open Outlook and then select "Display notification when new mail arrives" it will pop up a message. Also if they have sound you can specify a unique sound or call a .WAV file so they will know they have a message.

Also outlook '98 and 2000 have a "Rules Wizard" that lets you specify a lot of other functions based on "rules" that an e-mail might meet. So you can customize it.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

By "remove them from the equation", I want something automatic, say when they open Outlook, they get a message warning them not to open the "life stages" attachment. If we require them to open it, they may not. We have a lot of remedial users. Basically, what I'm looking for is something along the lines of the reminder feature, but with a customized message, and that goes off upon opening Outlook. Do I need a VB programmer?

Thanks again,
Hobbes

You need a programmer. You also need something like TrendMicros ScanMail which can scan your message store and remove that stuff before the users ever get it, even from internal mail.
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com

Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most ...
