Anyone know how to make the menu choice of a Fireworks generated pop up menu run a query?

At present the generated commands point the chosen item to a link using location= and it is at this point I would like to change the code to run a query to display a certain page.

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers
Paul

The trick is to replace that "location=" code for the action with some javascript function that will do what you want it to do --

You can just wipe out the location= and put in any valid javascript function you would like to call.

This sounds fine buy can the function be a query to an SQL database - an important part of what I am trying to achieve but missed out of the first question. Doh!

Well, I would normally submit the form with the function, setting various hidden variables before it does so -- then on reload, do your query -- based on what the values of the elements are that you set.

You will need to do a reload of the page to get back at your server side routines to execute a query on the database, though. The only exception to that rule comes if you implement remote scripting, which is pretty complicated, but there are some good FAQ's about it over in the vbScript forum FAQ area.
