Pop up menues and flash anims

Hello,
I have a set of pop up menus which have been working fine until I decided to make a flash animation covering an area that is used by the menus. Now the menus seem to go beneath the flash animation. How can I force the menus to go over the animation.
I have another problem related to menus. By default they try to show up in the same frame as the button calling them. If there's a horizontal frame separator line in the area of the menus, the menus are trancated. Can I make the menus load in a frame other than the one where the menu button is located?
