Hello everyone,

I have just installed an SBS 2008 Server and I am having issues collecting POP3 mail from 1&1 into the users mailboxes.

Initially I tried using the build in POP connector and it worked fine for my account however in the deliver to mailbox section it pre filled in with my mailbox (the main admin account) but the new accounts I created for the users did not appear in the pop connector , I can't figure out how to make the Exhange mailboxes appear so I can configure the pop collection direct to there mailbox.

So as a work around I dropped the trial of Pop Con on which collects fine for all mailboxes and delivers direct to the appropriate exchange mailbox. However.....

There seems to be a setting somewhere thats restricting the size limit to less that 20 or so MB (I suspect its 10mb) I have gone through every article I can find and everything is ether set to no limit or 400mb (400mb is what I have changed all the 10mb settings too to test)

Pop con is reporting:

Mail Transfer to Exchange failed, reason: Exchange aborted receiving the message after 24965 bytes. This is probably due to a message size limit in the virtual SMTP Server

I have rebooted the server since making the changes.

Happy to fix the built in pop connector or POP CON - any thoughts anyone??

Look forward to your replies.

Many Thanks

Neil

Hi

I am waiting for the managed building to open up port 25 :-(

I have however managed to get the built in pop connector working so bypass POP CON now however I have the same problem... I can send out a 23mb email fine from exchange to an external address but if I receive the same file back it bounces

I have checked every option I can see and everything is above 400mb for mail size.

All I seem to get back is:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'test@mydomain.co.uk' on 25/01/2009 23:01
552 5.3.4 Error: message file too big

Any ideas anyone?

As far back as I can remember (and that's a long time for old people like me), pop connectors have always been flakey and a stopgap solution at best. Deliver the mail to exchange.
