POP access using Mail on OS X

I am having trouble using mail to use a POP account with groupwise. it was working fine until about a week ago, and now it times out on port 25 every time i try to send a message. any suggestions?

Well for one thing, POP doesn't use port 25.

well, it was working fine before on the same port. what port should i change it to?

SMTP is used to send mail and uses port 25. POP is used to retrieve mail and uses port 110. You are using the correct port to send mail.

Try telnetting to the server on port 25 and manually sending a message. See if that works, or where it times out.

My bad. I forgot that using POP still uses 25 to send.. Can you use TCPCON to see if the server is even listening on port 25?
