While on hold today, I heard

"... we value the importance of your call ..."

Think about it.

Instead of telling your loved ones "you are important to me" just tell them "Your importance is valuable to me!" Of course, you could say this to your enemies, too.

By Yoda this line spoken could have been.

Never knock on Death's door: ring the bell and run away! Death really hates that!

There is a fellow on an e-mail list I am on whose signature is

Yoda of Borg are we. Futile is resistance; assimilated will you be.

Da mihi sis crustum Etruscum cum omnibus in eo.

How much "value" is implied of the "importance" of your call?
Are they making a buck on your dime?
Are you getting anything important from it?

I know too much now as it is.

Seen in an email, where X is the name of application software used to report on safety incidents:

The issue with X has been resolved and is now available for entering incidents.
Strange!

That's not strange; it's just plain wrong, unless the issue is available for entering incidents.

Good Luck
