Poorer performance in Weblogic cluster than single server

I have an application in my development environment which is a single server of WebLogic 8.1 SP4. It is working fine in terms of performance. But once I deployed the same application into our test environment which is a cluster setup with WebLogic 8.1 SP4. The performance in the test env was significantly dropped. I asked for your help. Any advice and suggestions would be highly appreciated.
