Poor quality image scaling in fullscreen playback

Can anyone suggest how i can ensure that images I embed will scale nicely when my project are run fullscreen?

I currently import jpgs - and they look fine when played at the movie's 1:1 ratio, but when i make the projector play back fullscreen the scaling is really bad and blocky. I can see why this is happening - the jpg doesn't hold enough info to be blown up and retain its quality.

Is there are file format I can import that is scalable like a vector? I've tried illustrator AI files but don't seem to be having any luck.

Any suggestions?

That's another reason why I don't favor scaling, or if you're going to use it, then, at least import your pictures at the biggest size they'll be used, design your site at most at 800*600 (even that's tight on a 800*600 resolution!), and don't use scaling but the actual movie's dimensions. Also make sure you jpgs Quality Settings is closest to 100% as possible in the Publish feature, under the Flash tab. Regards,

Even if you do import images at a large size when Flash scales the picture down to fit a smaller screen it often gets distorted, sometimes very badly. Very annoying.

The only way to have true scaling and keep images "clean" is to import them and then apply "trace as bitmap" which "vectorizes" them. Unfortunately this can lead to huge file sizes for complex images (even if you apply the in-built optimiser) and Flash is slow at displaying vectors compared to bitmaps.

Personally I think putting the Flash content at a reasonable size (I go for around 760*420), centred in an HTML table with a plain border looks better.
