When running programs listing processes (Spybot, AdAware and several others) SMSS.EXE and WINLOGON.EXE is often listed with poor or sometimes no decent information compared to other processes.

The sample below is taken from AdAware - most processes are listed similar to "services.exe" below, loads of clear info, while the processes mentioned above are pretty meager:

#:1 [smss.exe]
FilePath : \SystemRoot\System32 ThreadCreationTime : 2004-01-18 22:20:38
BasePriority : Normal

#:2 [winlogon.exe]
FilePath : \??\C:\WINNT\system32 ThreadCreationTime : 2004-01-18 22:20:46
BasePriority : High

#:3 [services.exe]
FilePath : C:\WINNT\system32 ThreadCreationTime : 2004-01-18 22:20:47

Shall I interpret this as possible mischief - the files perhaps trojaned or infected by something? I may add I've run several AV-programs with zero results.

The general problem I have is my computer rebooting spontaneously - it does so irregurarly (one day several times, then it stays stable for several days and so on, which I find more 'virus-like' than a permanent hardware-fault).

Regards everybody

Google is a great resource for figuring out what a program is.
If your AV isn't picking anything up, you may want to run another AV as a second opinion. There are various anti-trojan programs available as well.
I've listed a few on my site.
