Hi all,

I have a IBM INFORMIX IDS 9.30 running on Solaris 64-bits system, but it is much slower than a INFORMIX online 5.0 running on Solaris 32-bits system. Of course, I am using the same set of application and data for the above testing. Any idea?

Thx.

Hi,

Did you see the machine specific notes in $INFORMIXDIR/release/en_us/0333/IDS_9.3 which contains information related to the shared memory parameters and Kernel parameters suggested for the IDS version you are using ? Is they are insync with your currently set parameters ?

After porting the data into the new 64bit server did you run the update statistics for the all the objects? Also if you have changed over to a multi-processor machine from single-processor machine, you need to change certain parameters at $INFORMIXDIR/etc/onconfig.

Regards,
Shriyan
