I have Backup Exec 8.6 installed on a Windows 2K "COMPAQ NAS S1000" server and it works very well between NAS & Exabyte LTO Autoloader tape device. But when backing up across the network to the NAS the speed is very poor?
I get about 1333.8Mb/min (22.23Mb/sec) from NAS to tape.
I have dual(2)teamed 1 Gb Intel NICs installed on it, but speed is lucky to get over 126.5 Mb/Min, (2Mb/sec) from remote servers to NAS device.
What can I do to improve the performance?

Your problem is more than likely your NIC driver. There is no real way to tweak Backup Exec for performance. What are your FTP speeds from your server to your client and client to the server? You will probably find your answer there.

On a side not, check with your Network Admins and make sure that the switch or your NIC is not set to Auto Negotiate.

Excellent!
That worked.

Thanks very much for your help.
