If I utilize pools, is there a way I can keep users from having to dial an access code to access the pool?

In a nutshell, YES!

You can assign the POOL to the Extensions, set it for NO RING, and even go so far as to set their AUTO LINE SELECT (*14) to grab the POOL when they go off hook.
