Hello! I work for a major Hospital on the East Coast that interfaces the Polycom Spectralink Wireless Phone System with the Nortel Option 81. We currently use two types of handsets in our System (Polycom 620 and PTB410). Is there a way to identify and get a count of how many of each is programmed in our System?

Don't believe so, the Spectralink phones are built as 2616 in the 81. So if you have 2616 in the switch other than the Spectralink, you would have to print each TN out and see if the phone has a LNK key on it, this will be Spectralink

I think that the older WLAN2245 controller was made by Spectralink. You should be able to telnet onto the box or by a direct serial connection, in one on the menu's you can see all and count the MAC addresses of the telephones being managed by the box.

Billy, this is going to depend on the system you are using since it's a digital system you cannot telnet into it and a 6020 or a PTB410 do not have a MAC address, they have a serial number.

basically your only hope (other than someone labeling it) is to reference the serial numbers on both types of handsets, they should start with different numbers. - based on that you could "guess" on the number of each.

other than that you are SOL - normally the DES label could be used to reference the actual model of the handset...
