After setting up a Grandstream we tested it with a standard analogue test phone, all worked perfectly.

However when we plugged the Polycom unit into this (standard analogue conf device), about 60% of the time when receiving a call, there was a loud error tone (much like drilling into a wall) for two seconds before connecting.

We have fiddled around with the settings but nothing pops out to me that would cause this- anyone else seen this?

Not really an IP Office issue....but it sounds like the Grandstream is continuing to send ring current for a brief period even though the Polycom has answered, that would account for that loud strange noise. No idea how you would fix it though, over to Grandstream I guess :)
