I have a need to enable a Polycom conference phone in a room where I have Superset 4150. The Polycom requires an analog line where as the Superset is, I presume, digital. Is there any quick and easy solution to this conundrum or do I have to get another line installed. It’s fair to say this issue is likely to come up in other parts of our organisation and a flexible solution (adaptor?) would be ideal.
Thanks in advance.

install a SIM2 in the 4150 which will allow an analog device to connect to it.

Thanks pandabear1 - this sounds ideal.

Is this something that can be installed at the superset or does configuration need to take place at the switch?

The reason I ask is that the switch is managed by a service provider and I need to understand if we would be asking for a "change" to to take place rather than simply fitting an accessory (which could be completed by the end user - ie me!)

the SIM2 module is installed in the 4150 and the SIM2 analog port is programmed in CDE Form 12, Data Assignment. The port type is AIM.

ah... most telephone cables will have 3-4 pairs. The digital set will only take one of those pairs. Why not see if there is spare pairs behind the jack and create a second jack for the analog circuit?

My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.

There is also a Handset cord adapter available that will allow you to plug the Polycomm into the HANDSET of the SS4150 (or any digital phone). You then of course have to place the call with the SS4150 & leave the handset off-hook, then turn on your Polycom.

No it's not very elegant, but it works.

These adaptors are available from Hello Direct and Mike Sandman Assoc.
