Polling Swtich

Hi,
I am newbie to PERL. I am trying to write a script that would poll a switch and find out the devices that are attached to the switch.
I will appreciate if anyone can get started or guide me.

Did you look on CPAN for a module that will do what you need?

Have you tried it yourself? What problems are you having?

Thank you guys for your feedback. I think i'll be using SNMP to poll the switch and then get the list of devices attached.
