Hi all wonder if someone could point me to the info or even tell me the info i need to implement on my w2k3 server so clients with vista and 7 dont need to type the domain name and then there username at login.

Thanks

Hi vwcr, if you're on a domain you shouldn't need to do this. I have seen on some occassions that the client defualts to a local log on, but that's on when there is a local account with the same username, administrator for example.

Paul is absolutely right. If there is no local account with the same name, and the specified domain is correct, users don't have to type the domain\username. Just username. If you find a lot of machines are defaulting to the machine instead of the domain, IIRC, there is a GPO setting to set the domain as the preferred entry. But that shouldn't be needed.
