poledit usage

I am trying to restrict students from certain app's like "Run", and Settings. I star Poledit up and start a profile and select my checkmarks. I save, and then reboot with the user and it doesnt work (Or i don't work. Been telling my wife that for years ).

Any experiences with poledit out there ?

There is another tool that can help you acomplish the task with even better control as to what can be executed or not.

poledit only runs well on NT/Win2K/XP
A possible scenario could be

1. assign local admin rights for your user
2. log on with the user account on the computer
3. run poledit, select 'open registry' from the menu
4. make changes, save
5. log off, revoke admin rights, log on... --------------------------------------------------------------------
