pointless table?

Hello me again (sorry)

My Sheep Management Database Again

My table has 3 fields "Lost?" "Died?" and "Sold?"

They are all yes/no fields which look like tick boxes in table view.

Obviously I should only be able to tick one box at a time not all 3, as a sheep can only be one of the above.

How do I link them so that when one is ticked, the other 2 are unticked?

I'm guessing I need a validation rule using the expression builder, only i don't quite understand how it works.

If you do a search on this site for CHECK BOX, I think its got valid answers on about the third page of threads under CHECK BOX SELECTION you should find an answer. Regards

I think you are mixing up tables and forms. I think a small status table and a status code should suit: 1=Lost, 2=Sold. With a code, any other statuses can be easily added. This can then be used with an Option Group on the form, or a Combobox.

An Option group. thats what you need. although it will only work on the form
