Hi, I developed a scanning and viewing appl in VFP. I read and write to the ini file that came with the scanner. My problem is that I don't want to use this ini file anymore. I want the scanner to point to the ini file that I created instead. How do I let the scanner Know that It should use my ini file (myfile.ini) ?
PS: I did get some valuable help from Borislav on how to read and write to an ini file.

Would removing the scanners ini file (back it up first) and replacing it with your file using the same filename as the scanners file do the trick?

Regards,
Jim

I tried that first. I overwrote the ini file with mine, but after the scanning session I noticed that the scanner recreated the [common] section that I had removed and read it instead of the section I wanted to read the parameters from.

In that case, unless you can get some help from the manufacturer, I'd guess you're out of options.

Sorry,
Jim
