I'm using Paradox 10.0.0.719 on M$ WinXP pro version 2002 with Service Pack 2. Recently, I've started getting this error which isn't corrected by a full uninstall/reinstall, and whose start didn't correspond with any known install/update. The error dialog sais "Paradox" in the title bar, so I assume this is a PW error. The body of the dialog says "An attempt was made to access an unnamed file past its end."

When I start an application from the M$ desktop I can "OK" thru the boxes to eventually start the app, but when I try to launch the PW desktop each press of the "OK" just launches another instance of the same error dialog (I can see the flash). The second thing also happens if I start an app from the desktop and then try exiting to Paradox.

Is WinXP setting the pointer of an internal read buffer for PW illegally? Is there any way around this? Please help before I've pulled out the last hairs on my head.

TIA

Toolbar corruption, I believe.

Search and destroy ALL instances of PDX_EN_FULL_bars.cfg and PDX_EN_FULL_sbar.cfg in full Paradox and PDX_EN_RUN_bars.cfg and PDX_EN_RUN_sbar.cfg - everywhere BUT subdirs of c:\program files.

They may be hidden files, or files in hidden directories, so you have to show all directories/files on WinXP.

Most likely location is with the documents and settings directory.
