Does anyone know if it is possible to connect two Magix systems together using an 800 BRI card in each system instead of PRI?
I am trying it out with no success right now, I set up the extension numbers to be 1000 one system and 2000 on the other system and programmed the opposite systems extensions in System Renumber-->UDP with pattern 1 number of digits=4, and then set up a route under Tables-->UDP-->Pattern 1-->Route 1-->Pools-->890 (holds BRI line 805)
I also set the SWNum of one system to be 21 and the other to be 22.
Is there anything I am forgetting or is it even possible to connect directly between two systems with an 800 BRI card.

Thanks in advance,
The Phone Guy

I've never tried this before. It seems in theory that it would work, however it would only allow two simultaneous calls.

There is one glaring (pun) problem about networking with BRI: under normal circumstances, a "straight" T1 is required--even though PRI programming is done in the switch. I've never quite understood why Avaya does it this way; perhaps some propriety protocol is used on the D-Channel in PBX-Nwk mode, which is why a true PRI cannot be used in this instance.

Now if THAT'S true, then it makes perfect sense that a BRI card couldn't be used. A BRI card is designed to talk to a true ISDN circuit, not a fractional or whole "straight" T1. I don't know this to be a fact, but I feel that the logic makes sense.
